Deep in Dripping Springs Remodel
We are doing our remodel in Dripping Springs and learning our way around the Texas Hill Country and our way around sub-contractors........
Let's just say.......School is not cheap!
I am now being called
"The Corn Lady"
Every afternoon I spread corn out for the deer and they watch and wait for me......
I would rather be called "The Deer Whisperer".....
They are not afraid to come in close.
I LOVE IT!
My art is on hold for the moment...... but....
Colors and Choices are surrounding me!
See you soon!

Dreams Do Come True
Well
My Dream of a Country Home has come true!
And an added bonus
I am so close to my fav Art Supply Store in Austin!
So many trees!
Someday....... chickens and a horse!
The"garden" may have to wait,
but my spirit is soaring!
The closing was all happening while SD and I were in the middle of the
Dreaded Dengue Fever
down in Mexico
Who knew one little mosquito could bring such havoc on a person......or two.
Thanks for the notes of kindness
I am so Grateful!
It's time to get back to being
CREATIVE
I hear a shrine calling my name!

Swine Flu or Dengue?
I have missed all of you so much and am excited to get back to you soon.
While you wait
Another Beach photo
(this is all SD has on his Pc)
Go figure!
Have I been creative?..You may be thinking......
NOOOO
Well, I have had some amazing works come out of these very
feverish, weird and drug induced
semi-comas, masking as sleep
Now....if I could only remember them.......

Interview Blog Game
So....here are Melissa's questions to me and my 1 Minute of fame!
1. A quick peek at your blog tells me you knit and do mixed media and work with clay. What other arts/crafts do you do and which of them all is your favorite?
My all time favorite thing to do is paint and try to add texture without much collage...... I can't stick with one medium for very long.........that's where the "gypsy"part comes in to play........and I don't stay put for very long either! Think oils will be my next adventure.
2. What is your favorite subject matter? Do you prefer abstracts, realism, fantasy....?
Oh... that is an easy one.......ABSTRACTS!
3. How, if at all, are arts/crafts different in Mexico than in the US?
Not much different at all.......just extra materials to play with.......Milagros and tin are everywhere........recycled anything is in many pieces of Mexican art.
4. How has Mexico influenced your creativity?
It's the easy going lifestyle.... the brilliant colors ....the warm and oh so friendly people! Siesta time is fabulous!
5. Both of your homes are in warm, sunny, ocean climates. If you won a third home anywhere in the world, where would it be?
So interesting you asked this question......we used to live on a sailboat and traveled with our twin daughters down the East coast and the Bahamas for several years before settling in Mexico............we have since sold the boat and now I am thinking..... Texas Hill Country......on a river......complete...with chickens....a goat......horse...garden and lots of space for all the other family that will be coming into our lives. (we have four grown daughters and two grand munchkins......)
I believe thoughts turn in to things...........I am thinking Hill Country!
And Now "THE INTERVIEW RULES"
1. Leave me a comment with your email address saying: “interview me”
2. I will e-mail you five questions of my choice
3. You can then answer the questions on your blog {with a link back to my blog}
4. You should also post these rules, along with an offer to interview anyone else who emails you, wanting to be interviewed
5. Anyone who asks to be interviewed should be sent 5 questions to answer on their blog individualized for each blogger. Read their blog and their profile to come up with the questions!
