Blue Water of Somewhere

These are a few pictures taken here in my small piece of this amazing world..........and no we were not fishing for dolphins...................we were fishing for yellow-fin tuna...........they will take you right to them...............what an amazing thing to see............hundreds happily flipping in the air.

Thank You

A BIG Thank You to Christy from Bucerias Art Walk------she had my Pina painting published in the Bay Vallarta magazine and the painting SOLD today! I am sooooo excited and grateful----she has pushed me to get my art out there .........Thank You for having the faith that I didn't.

Sea Songs

After some crazy time in and out of the hospital in Puerto Vallarta and a trip back to South Padre for another Dr. visit it was nice to spend the day with the family out in the blue........I will be back when the familia goes back to Texas.

Not really sure where we are heading once we get to Boston.....so much to see and do.....but we will be driving to one of the areas where the leaves are turning colors......my head is spinning just thinking about it! Camera is ready and so am I!

Travel

Just returned from Texas....went to see the http://www.dallascowboys.com/ we had a great time even though da boys lost...just being in a big city was a nice change. Also, drove to Oklahoma City to see the benefit concert for the victims of hurricane Ike.
Great concert http://www.robertplantalisonkrauss.com/site.php Great Cause! Opening for them was http://www.sharonlittle.com, she was awesome, check her out.

This is a photo of our old business that was hit by hurricane Dolly on South Padre Island, Texas. It is so sad to see all of the damage....but south Texans are a solid bunch and things will come together for another great season.

It's time to get back to the studio and create!

Pineapple Dreams

Some of my other Pinas

Pina

Been working on a new Pina series---first with some watercolors and then a large mixed media piece 30x30. I work fast and prefer to do large pieces-----hate to get small and detailed--just not my style. If I could figure out how to take great photos---you would be able to see all the collage work in this piece----

Walked the beach this morning with my daughter, who is visiting for a week from Texas, again we had to dodge all the trash from the rain last night....... it is so dirty when the river empties on to the beach. We did find several really nice pieces of sea glass, a pink, a green marble and lots of dark blue. I am always looking for that elusive orange........someday.........so I keep searching.

Golden Time

This is a photo of my past muse, Charly, she touched our lives for such a short time.....but will forever be in our hearts. I created this in her memory for a Dia de los Muertos project. Our family sailed with her across the Gulf of Mexico, East coast and the Bahamas.........oh what great memories for all of us. Posted by Picasa

Rain and Work

I love rainy days! I don't need an excuse to lock myself in the studio.........but rainy days make me feel better about never coming out.

I am amazed at the blogging world and am quickly becoming hooked on all there is to see and learn---I have got to walk away---there's dinner to be cooked, dog is begging for a beach walk---oh the joy of it all--- what if I still had a job? What if I stop painting? I am already looking for a new camera----I am in big Trouble and loving every moment of it!

Just a Day in Paradise

My view in paradise is always so inspiring, comforting, gorgeous and never fails to heal my soul. The favorite time of day for this inspiration is the early morning, just before the sun rises, a glow comes over the sky and the palms begin to light up. Who wouldn't be encouraged to be creative when waking to this? So, off to the studio I go.

Mexican Kitchen

I Love This TablePosted by Picasa

Golden Day

Worked in my studio today, cleaning, organizing and just making some room to move around. My studio doubles as an extra guest room for the surfer singles that need twin beds. So, I love my Mexican Kitchen hutch, the table and benches fold up into the doors and all I have to do is shut the doors and it looks like a wardorb.

I really need to send this picture to GOLDEN!

I am not fond of the acrylics in Mexico, so I brought some down from the states.

The beach was still full of trash today, so why not have a golden day cleaning the studio.

True Beauty

What beauty is offered to us if we only take the time to see.

Found this on a walk in my little puebla today and just needed to share it.

Rainy Nights Bring More Sea Treasures

I never know what will wash ashore after a stormy night or better said, what will wash down the river into the sea. Trees, trash and always bones of some kind of animals. Scary! I don't go into the ocean on days of bones and trash. I do look for treasures and things to inspire, rusty bed springs, lots of rusty bed springs. I don't know what goes on up that river, but do enjoy the bounty. The rusty artifacts will be part of an art piece someday, but for now they sit in my planter as a daily reminder of peaceful wanderings on the ocean of life

Walking in Time

Thanks to Karen for a great workshop in Ingram, Texas!

We had so much fun in the Printmaking with a TWIST class
and I will continue to use the techniques learned. I donated this piece to the Hill Country Arts Foundation for a fundraiser they are having.

Great spot for workshops, right by the river, peaceful and so wonderful for getting the creative process going in harmony with nature.

Life

Am I the only person that lets life take over? I love my life but when I don't give myself the creative time I NEED and want -----well things get lifey------family ----laundry----feeding the dog-----walking the dog----LIFE-----it's just another part of the day and I am grateful for every single minute----even if I don't get to the creative part everyday!
