Disintegration
Disintegration Colla
I have joined this collaboration in hopes my paper will succumb to the elements here in Mexico........land of no snow and continuous sunshine......
I wrapped the scroll in twine and inserted it into copper tubing, coiled it with a piece of rebar and laid it on a rusty piece of speaker I found on one of my beach walks. It will rest on my patio next to all my other beach treasures that are kept in a coconut concha until May 1st. I love surprises!
The scroll contains a prayer that I say over and over and won't let go........
So maybe disintegration will be my way of letting go......

Home Sweet Home
It is so wonderful to be back to my Mexican Paradise---warm, sunny and ohhh so serene. All went well at home in Texas and I do always miss my girls(4 of them)........but they are all grown up and don't need me as much as before.......a change for us all, a change they handle better than I do..........
Pat Dews gave a great workshop in San Antonio and I came home with one finished painting and many starts for others to come.......it is always so exciting to be with other artists....you can just feel the creative energy surging in the room! My BFF is coming down today and I am giddy......more creative energy......we can always find some kind of new thingy to try! She is giving a basket weaving workshop here in Bucerias using native palm sheaths and such.........also Christy at The Bucerias Art Walk is hosting a champagne reception for Beth to introduce her one woman show! I will post some pics of her art later but please check her out.......not only is she a great artist...... she is also the MOST Amazing friend and I am so lucky to have her in my life. Twenty four years of sharing the good, the bad and the ugly......it is awesome growing old together!

Wanderings
I have been back and forth from Mexico and Texas so much these last six months that when I awake I am not sure which home I am in.........I'm not complaining, just confused most days. I love the traveling and getting to see my family......but I believe I am finally thinking of Mexico as home........which thrills the surfer dude in my life and fuels my artistic side. Even though both homes are by the sea.........there is something so different here........always a surprise behind an old door, the beautiful people, the customs and traditions....the music, went to see
Willie and Lobo on Saturday in La Cruz..........amazing!
So, I am traveling again this week to be with one of my four daughters who is having surgery on Friday.......please keep her in your prayers. Once she is recovered I will go to Austin with my two BFF for a experimental workshop with Pat Dews.................a wandering, gypsy life style has some great perks.

Not really sure where we are heading once we get to Boston.....so much to see and do.....but we will be driving to one of the areas where the leaves are turning colors......my head is spinning just thinking about it! Camera is ready and so am I!

This is a photo of our old business that was hit by hurricane Dolly on South Padre Island, Texas. It is so sad to see all of the damage....but south Texans are a solid bunch and things will come together for another great season.
It's time to get back to the studio and create!

Pina
Walked the beach this morning with my daughter, who is visiting for a week from Texas, again we had to dodge all the trash from the rain last night....... it is so dirty when the river empties on to the beach. We did find several really nice pieces of sea glass, a pink, a green marble and lots of dark blue. I am always looking for that elusive orange........someday.........so I keep searching.

Golden Time

This is a photo of my past muse, Charly, she touched our lives for such a short time.....but will forever be in our hearts. I created this in her memory for a Dia de los Muertos project. Our family sailed with her across the Gulf of Mexico, East coast and the Bahamas.........oh what great memories for all of us.

Golden Day
I really need to send this picture to GOLDEN!
I am not fond of the acrylics in Mexico, so I brought some down from the states.
The beach was still full of trash today, so why not have a golden day cleaning the studio.

Rainy Nights Bring More Sea Treasures
Walking in Time

We had so much fun in the Printmaking with a TWIST class
and I will continue to use the techniques learned. I donated this piece to the Hill Country Arts Foundation for a fundraiser they are having.
Great spot for workshops, right by the river, peaceful and so wonderful for getting the creative process going in harmony with nature.

Life
Am I the only person that lets life take over? I love my life but when I don't give myself the creative time I NEED and want -----well things get lifey------family ----laundry----feeding the dog-----walking the dog----LIFE-----it's just another part of the day and I am grateful for every single minute----even if I don't get to the creative part everyday!
